So…here goes nothing…
I’ve wanted to start a blog for the longest time and even made a vague attempt in the past with a free WordPress but with one thing or another I never quite stuck at it. Like most things in life, I guess you hit a point where you’re ready to do/learn/participate properly in something and decide that whatever is going on around you, you’re feeling committed enough to do it ‘properly’. I think we can all agree that when you want to achieve something, usually there’s a catalyst or you arrive at the decision because you can’t shake the idea, no matter how much time passes. At the end of the day, it’s a passion and things like that will not leave you, no matter how busy you get or how hard you try to put it to the back of your mind. My catalyst was a combination of things: mainly my 35th birthday and some ill health in the family which is usually the point where people sit up and assess what they want to achieve in their own lives should the same suddenly happen to them.
This blog is what I want to achieve.
My mam is a writer and it must have rubbed off on me without me even realising. I have no doubt that she would have been blogging had it been a ‘thing’ back-in-the-day (not that there’s anything to stop her now), but I’ve always found her work really interesting and her passion inspiring and so in some roundabout way I’ve been led to this very point.
My little corner of the internet is going to be a mish-mash of stuff. We’re all like that aren’t we? No-one is just interested in fashion/ beauty/ parenting/food etc…we’re much more multi-faceted with family, friends, pets, jobs, hobbies, heartbreaks and holidays shaping us daily. When I couldn’t settle on a focus for the blog for reasons I’ve just explained, one of my best friends suggested a name related pun and he came up with this – fitting since I do love a natter.
What do you want to achieve?
